Dean Atta’s debut poetry collection, I Am Nobody’s Nigger, was shortlisted for the Polari First Book Prize. His poems deal with themes of race, gender, identity and growing up, and he has appeared on BBC One’s The One Show and several times on BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service and Channel 4. Dean was named as one of the most influential LGBT people in the UK by the Independent on Sunday. He regularly performs across the UK and internationally and is currently a judge of the 2018 BBC Young Writers’ Award. His second collection, The Black Flamingo, will be published in August 2019 by Hachette Children’s Group.

John Hegley is a performance poet, comedian, musician and songwriter. An absolute legend on the performance circuit, his career spans The Comedy Store, John Peel Sessions, a regular slot on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast, several BBC Radio series and appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. His 14 books, include I Am a Poetato; Peace, Love & Potatoes, and New and Selected Potatoes. John has acted in the West End, featured at Glastonbury Festival and is a Edinburgh Fringe regular. He has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival and the USA Comedy Festival in Aspen. You’re in for a treat.
