Introducing Ragtime to Grime, a new production in development by Grounded Movement, directed by Temujin Gill, featuring jazz and dance music arranged by South London-based producer Miles Romans-Hopcraft
Temujin Gill, artistic director, is one of UK’s most experienced and eclectic jazz dance choreographers, committed to bringing dance to all sectors of the community, from professionals to the inexperienced of all ages and backgrounds.
Testament to Temujin’s commitment to producing high quality dance productions and experiences, came with the amazing honor he received, together with co-choreographer Sunanda Biswas, when asked to be on Danny Boyle’s award-winning creative team to choreograph the NHS section of the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
Grounded Movement are not just performing on the Main Stage at this year’s festival but are also leading a community dance project, My Beat Our Rhythm, with participants from ASKI’s older people’s dance group, students from Oasis Academy Coulsdon and the Penge Samba Drummers.
Look out for My Beat Our Rhythm leaving the Village Green at 16:30 to the Main Stage arena from 16:45 to 17:00 as well as some great dance workshops at the Village Green Bandstand!
