Jono Podmore is Kumo. He’s also a Professor of Music, head of Psychomat Records, one third of local analog heroes, Metamono and has been at the coal-face of cutting-edge electronic music for four decades, working with people as diverse as 70s psyche rock experimentalists, Can through to Ibizan legend Jose Padilla as well as more people than you can wave a Theremin at!

Kumo’s latest ambient release Day/ Night on the much lauded, cassette-only label Tapeworm has been getting rave reviews. He will be doing a dub/electronic set during the day and then an exclusive live performance of the album Day/Night to round off the night. Get ready for the sound of South London moulded and folded with sonic, analog frequencies from another universe!

We’re flattered and indeed, most honoured to welcome a very esteemed, surprise special guest and representative of The West Norwood Book and Record Bar to Dub Tropicana! who will be performing an exclusive 2 hour, ambient/ dub set for your listening pleasure. Our lips are sealed at this stage but to describe him as a pioneer of leftfield, ambient, dub-tronica, would indeed be an understatement!

This Is A Recording are an electronic duo who have been quietly making their own brand of slow-motion house music for a few years now. With gentle nods to dub, blues and indie balearica, they’re gonna be doing a special live, improvised ambient set for the occasion. Think stratospheric harmonics, cosmic melodies and conscious vibes!

Adam Plumb and Sam Cherry together make Plumb and Cherry Jam. With decades of experience due to either running their own record store for 20 years (Sam) or playing various clubs and dingy haunts across Europe and beyond (both of them!), expect leftfield oddities, balearic exotica, blissed out chill-out and more from these two. Either way it’ll be sweet like you want to dip your finger in it!

Psychotropical Soul is the name of a monthly radio show and occasional outings by local bloke, Woods. Having been exposed to psychedelia and world music at an early age he now likes to blend the two. He’ll be kicking off proceedings with all things global and particularly latin, in order to twist your tropical melon and complement the South American footie shenanigans inside. Expect more from him across the course of the day.

Soundhire Audio will be providing the sound for Dub Tropicana! and we’re very lucky because of it. Providing analogue PA to major festivals and events across the UK utilising their bespoke Opus Audio system, they can provide all your audio needs from 3k to 50k!
